Clarissa’s Top 5 of February

Posted on February 28, 2011

These are just a few links to stuff I have come across in the last month…and I found worthy of recommending.

1. A Prayer About the Stewardship of Getting Irritated These words call us out on how we expend our irritation on the wrong things. Prepare to feel convicted.

2. Render Unto Caesar The oh-so-touchy, incredibly divisive issue of politics. This really drives home the misplaced hope (or despair) that we have in politics. This articles really goes deeper into it, and is worth your time if you are someone who gets really passionate about politics.

3. Prodigal Sons If you have never taken the time to listen to Tim Keller, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NY City, this sermon is a great way to get acquainted with his awesomness. Prepare to have your preconceptions about the story of the Prodigal Son blown out of the water.

4. What’s on my Food If you want an easy visual way to see what kinds of pesticides and other junk is on our food, check this out. To be really horrified, click on apples.

5. Stranded and stuck in Libya These photos captures the lives and stories of some of the immigrants from South of the Sahara. I admit I had no idea how big of a problem human trafficking was in this area. Nigerians, believing that Europe will be their promise land, pay large sums to get smuggled into Europe, only to be “dropped off” in Liberia where often the women are sold into brothels. My heart breaks when I think about what these people are going through.
